A Derby Day Delirium - Logan Rankin

Image
The Enterprise National League South had a massively entertaining game to witness this afternoon, the home team going 2-0 up, and almost winning.  The Hornets have brought in adequate personal to establish themselves in the league, but with 44 more games to go, anything can happen... Horsham won promotion to the National League South, via winning the level below, by a singular goal. On the opening day, they were unlucky not to salvage a draw, where they narrowly were defeated by Chelmsford City, courtesy of a late Harry Barbrook goal. The Hop Oast Stadium was buzzing almost 2 hours before kickoff and they imagined a terrific derby between 2 great sides, with their last affair, in a league basis, being in 2019 with Ollie Pearce scoring twice and a 3-0 display. This was back when Worthing were in the Isthmian Premier, and The Rebels have drastically improved their squad since 6 years ago. Horsham fans were eagerly anticipating this game, and they're well right to be, with...

Stefan Stirred Up For Blooming Beginnings - Logan Rankin

Hutton's Stefan Lamacq has given his thoughts about his time with The Tons and what the future beholds. Last Season's Play-Off Defeat The 22 year-old goalkeeper was a strong part in Hutton's promotion charge, but after succumbing in the playoff semi-finals Lamacq was destrort. Hutton were clearly the better side against Hackney Wick , but in the beautiful game, the better team doesn't always come out on top. As you would expect, it hurt a lot - but adds fuel to the fire and make the league theirs. Last Season Overview Lamacq joined Hutton on loan last season from Billericay Town F.C in the early stages of the 24/25 season. Stefan was first to say his game has massively improved since arriving at The Tons and is still continuing to improve, with the management staff giving him a platform to build on and is every so grateful for the opportunity of senior football. Pre-Season Fixtures Hutton 2-1 Saffron Walden East Thurrock 2-3 Hutton Billericay Town 4...

Back To Blue - Logan Rankin

It was a weird and interesting summer for, now, Billericay's Jack Evans to say the least. From signing to not signing to now being signed... This dilemma began on May 30th 2025 where former Chatham legend and captain, Jack Evans, announced his departure from Chatham Town F.C. Only days after Jack's 'offical' departure from The Chats, the club announced that centre-back, Reece Butler, would be the successor of Jack Evans. A few weeks after Jack's departure, Billericay Town F.C approached him and 'got his signature'. Come Billericay's first pre-season training session, Jack Evans was absent, due to contractal terms. Hours after The Blues' first session back, the club released a serious and formal club statement which read,  "The Club wish to inform our supporters that, contrary to our previous announcement, Jack Evans will not be joining us at this time. When we made our approach, we did so in good faith, based on publicly available in...

Johnson Ready To Go - Logan Rankin

We had a chat with Blues' skipper Matt Johnson about his summer and preparations for a big campaign ahead of Billericay Town: "Matt good to see you again, first of all how was your summer, and would you say it was hard to enjoy your summer, given all the clubs trying to snatch your signature?" "I had a great summer, you need that time away to spend time with family and friends, gives you time to reflect and put things into perspective. I didn’t find it difficult letting interested managers know this season that I wanted to stay at Billericay, I think it’s clear to see we are building towards something special here, and like I said hopefully this year can be our year." "Last campaign we missed out on promotion by the nearest of margins, with an already phenomenal team. With this year's squad bosting even more talent from the league above, would you say winning the league is the only option this year?" "I think since I arrived in th...

New Blue To Rip It Up At New Lodge - Logan Rankin

Image
Gary McCann has made 4 signings since narrowly missing out on promotion last campaign, and in The New Lodge's opinion The Blue' had a superb defence but on the other end of the pitch? Not enough action. The Blues' gaffer has heard the cries and has added depth into the forward position. Enter: Troy Howard. Troy Howard - Youth Career Howard started playing competitive football at the tender age of 13 where he felt, Dover Athletic affiliate, Dover Rangers would be the right fit for a young Troy. After a year of playing at the white cliff capital, Howard made the switch to Deal Town from the U14s level untill the U16s level. Howard impressed enough at the youth level to sign a first senior deal, with Deal Town. Troy Howard - Senior Career After a few successful campaigns with The Town, he would make the impressive move to the west coast of Margate. After only a year as a Gate player he made the switch to Herne Bay where he spent a successful 2 terms at the Safety N...

An Ode To a Legend - Logan Rankin

Over 100 appearances, many goals later, 2 spells in blue, Moses Emmanuel has called it quits with BTFC. Moses joined Billericay Town from Maindenhead United back in 2018 and made 57 appearances, scoring respectable goals to prepell his team infront. At the time, the 29 year-old would depart to Welling United before joining Wealdstone and scored on 11 separate occasions. A call to Hayes and Heading would soon follow for the bagsmen.  Gary McCann would come calling at the start of the 23/24 season for a return to the blue of Essex, and Emmanuel would start off strong, when he scored against Cray Wanderers to gain maximum points. Throughout his 2 year tenure at New Lodge he would prove to be vital in the frontline finding the back of the net 29 times in all competitions. Scoring the winner against Hendon, Bowers, Bognor, it has shown to be a memorable ride for the now 35 year-old. 80+ goals later, Moses Emmanuel has made the tough decision to leave Billericay Town F.C....

The Immediate Return - Logan Rankin

A cruel relegation last term, into a commanding play-off campaign. 49 league games across the season, how quite did Boreham Wood make an immediate comeback in spite of their relegation? 23/24 was heart wrenching for Boreham, as they finished in 21st, 1 point away from safety. York just about scraped survival. Boreham were massively  underwhelming for the most part of their last campaign only amounting 52 points. Despite their  relegation to the Nation League South, they managed to retain key players in Nathan Ashmore, Charles Clayden, and Mo Sagaf. 3 players perfectly capable of preforming in the division above decided to stay true and loyal to their club and stay on for 24/25. It was an eventful start for Boreham as they failed to lose in their opening 4 games - until they fell victim to a 2-1 defeat to Salisbury where Raynner Silva and Craig Fasanmade's goals were enough to send Wood into desperation despite opening the scoring with a penalty scored by Eric...
