Lukombo's Aspirations Clear - Logan Rankin
We had a chat with Ramsgate defender, Henry Lukombo, about his transfer to Dover, his loan to Ramsgate, and his transfer to Ramsgate.
Later throughout the season, the club accepted a loan offer from Ramsgate, on an initial 28 day loan, which was ideal for Henry to get more playing time. The 22 year-old centre-back was a key part for the 7 games he played in. After his return to Dover paltime was still a struggle, and from there Lee Martin would be a deciding factor in Lukombo's permanent move.
Looking back, Henry had mixed emotions about his original move to Dover. as he felt he shouldn't have left Sittingbourne, if he knew he wasn't bound to get minutes on the South Coast, but also felt like it all worked out in the end, as he got a great move away to Ramsgate. Henry felt that he wasn't part of the puzzle for Dover fro the time being, so made his own decision to depart, but is adamant that it was his choice to strive for a move away, and leaves Dover with nothing but respect.
Now, with Lukombo making his move to Ramsgate, he said that he feels like he's part of the plan, puzzle, and an instrumental part of The Rams backline. while in discussions with manager, Lee Martin, Henry was mesmerized by the vision and idea Martin had and wanted to bring to the club. Lukombo was also sure that his loan move was most influential for his move to Ramsgate, as he already knew the players he would be playing alongside with and has already built up chemistry with his now teammates.
Now with contracts signed and done, the main aim is for Henry to be the best version he can be in every game, every minute, and every second. As a collective, the club wants to maintain a fiery changing room with full of fight. Everyone wants to step out on that pitch and go as far as they can, every battle and ever shot.
Wishing you the best in a Rams shirt, Henry!!
